About Crafted Analog

Three people. One store. Nobody’s selling anything. Except we are.

Crafted Analog is Andrew, Ashlyn, and Chloe.

Andrew is an architect. Founder of Linebox Studio in Ottawa. He has spent 25 years specifying materials, objects, and spaces — including the Shopify offices, where he worked with some of the best makers in the country and developed strong opinions about what’s worth buying and what’s just well-marketed garbage. He wears a Casio calculator watch unironically. He has a lot of feelings about pepper mills. He will preach about manual coffee grinders and he is not sorry about it.

Ashlyn is 17. She’s into wellness, skincare, school, and doing things properly. She has been listening to Andrew’s rants her entire life and has developed a finely tuned filter for when he’s right (sometimes) and when he’s being dramatic (often). She found the Oura Ring. She introduced it to the family. She was right. She is frequently right and handles it with more grace than the rest of us deserve.

Chloe is 14. She makes things. She cooks, she crafts, she gets her hands dirty, she plays sports, she figures stuff out by doing it. She has less patience for Andrew’s analog philosophy than Ashlyn does, but she also genuinely understands making things with your hands better than either of them. She doesn’t always agree with what’s on this site. When she doesn’t, she says so.

The three of us are building this together. Andrew designs spaces for a living — including spaces for companies like Shopify — and has spent decades around objects that are made well and objects that aren’t. Ashlyn and Chloe have grown up in those spaces, heard the lectures, rolled their eyes at the right moments, and occasionally admitted that Dad had a point.

This store is the result of that. Things we actually use. Things we actually argue about. Things one of us found and the others had to be convinced about. When we disagree, you’ll hear all three sides. When Andrew is being insufferable about something, Ashlyn and Chloe will tell you. When the girls find something Andrew has never heard of and it turns out to be genuinely great, he’ll admit it.

No sponsored content. No brand deals. No pretending we love something we don’t. Just three people with different ages, different tastes, and a shared belief that most things aren’t worth buying — but some things really are.

Made to be held, used, and kept. — Andrew
Or just actually useful. — Ashlyn
Or fun to make yourself. — Chloe
